Junior Mechanical Designer

Autoquip Inc., in Menomonee Falls, WI is looking for a passionate, dedicated, and experienced Junior Mechanical Designer to join our team. Autoquip, Inc. is an industrial robotics integrator of modular manufacturing systems and service that installs robots worldwide. This is a full-time, salaried role.

Role Opportunities

  • Create technical drawings, both preliminary and final designs.
  • Revise existing products using customer feedback and data to upgrade and improve.
  • Review specifications and other data to develop mechanical layouts.
  • Create drawings for new products and revise designs for existing products.
  • Provide Installation support during the building and installation process of machines.
  • Ensure that the product/machine is being built properly and according to design specifications.

Skills And Experience

  • Use AutoCAD/Solidworks software to sketch and draw up designs using input from engineers and machinists on their team.
  • Verify designs are in line with company procedure, regulations and client standards.
  • Review project requirements and adhere to timelines to meet project milestones with the project team (internal and external).
  • Supports Sales and Engineering departments with concept and sales drawings.
  • Works within the Autoquip team to optimize processes and products to make us more efficient.
  • Has working knowledge of mechanical parts as well as computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD & SolidWorks.
  • Some travel to job sites or factories to measure physical dimensions for machinery and observe production lines.

Qualifications Basic

  • High School Diploma AND 5 years of engineering, design, or project/product experience; OR
  • Associate’s Degree AND 2 years of engineering, design, or project/product experience; OR
  • Bachelor’s Degree of engineering, design, or project/product experience; OR

Qualifications Preferred

  • BA/BS degree in Engineering
  • 5+ years of engineering, design, or project/product experience
  • Experience with Engineering or Project Management in robotics and fluid management
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • AutoCAD / SolidWorks or 3D Cad equivalent / Excel / broad engineering knowledge
  • Strong verbal and written communication
